About The Artist

Columbia

Shari Acevedo-McBride, “Sam,” was born in Vernal, Utah. She is a descendent of Mormon pioneers who came to the United States from Christiana (Oslo) Norway. She has lived in numerous cities in the United States, Canada, Germany, and Spain. She is a wife and mother of four. Her artwork has been displayed in several cities in the United States and Canada. She has toured many of the great museums of the world and has been greatly influenced by the great masters. This is most evident in her sculpture work. Shari won an Art Scholarship to Brigham Young University-Idaho (then known as Ricks College) in Rexburg, Idaho. While a student there she had the opportunity to work under great artists; including Del Parsons, Robert T. Barrett, and Brent Gehring.

Sam is a professional artist who can use your ideas combined with her own to create artwork for display or product development. She can take conceptual ideas from imagination and transform them to drawings, clay maquettes, and ultimately to final production. A talented sculptor, she is also skilled in oils, aqua-media, and pastel.

She has taught art classes to young children, teens, and adults in various mediums. She particularly enjoys watching students discover the joy of creation. Her belief is that young minds stimulated with creativity, imagination, and visual adeptness, develop into academically astute students.

Sam has been honored to do commission work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the Salt Lake City Temple and the Paris, France Temple.
